The Innovation Search Engine (INSE) is a research project of the Networked Embedded Systems group at the Universität Duisburg-Essen that is funded as part of GUIDE. The goal of the project is to create an intelligent tool that supports innovation coaches during their scouting activities. Just like a regular search engine, INSE will periodically visit the public web pages of the Universität Duisburg-Essen. However, while doing so, it analyses the page contents using natural language processing in order to extract knowledge by classifying and linking the data over time. Based on the extracted knowledge, INSE provides a broad range visualizations that are intended for innovation scouting.
